COVID-19 Update for Employers – Easing of Restrictions
After New South Wales, Victoria and the ACT announced a relaxing of quarantine rules, Queensland has now decided that quarantine requirements will be eased from 6pm on 28th of April 2022.

As Australia moves towards a ‘living with COVID-19’ approach leading to greater freedoms for both businesses and individuals, no lockdowns and the return of domestic and international travel, employers now need to consider what steps they are willing to take to protect their workforce and the public.

The Fair Work Ombudsman has recently released new guidance for employers regarding mandatory COVID-19 vaccines for some industries.

From 4pm today (Saturday 31 July 2021) residents of Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Moreton Bay, Redlands, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Somerset, Lockyer Valley and Scenic Rim, are in mandatory lockdown until 4pm on Tuesday 3 August 2021.
From 6pm tonight (Tuesday 29 June 2021) residents of Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Moreton Bay, Redlands, Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Somerset, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim, Gold Coast, Townsville and Palm Island are in mandatory lockdown until 6pm Friday 2 July 2021.
From 5pm tonight (Monday 29th March), residents of Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Moreton Bay and Redlands are in mandatory lockdown until 5pm on Thursday 1st April 2021.
It is the question on everyone’s mind. The vaccination roll out has commenced Australia-wide this week, so we expect to see this landscape change and develop over the coming weeks and months.
