Many of these dates highlight different communities, experiences or causes but ultimately, they’re about inclusion. Use them as an opportunity to connect, learn from each other, and ensure all voices feel seen and valued in your workplace.
National Cheese Lovers Day – 4 January
A light-hearted way to bring people together over food. Easy to turn into a morning tea or themed lunch.
World Logic Day – 14 January
A quirky but clever one – good for teams that enjoy puzzles, analytics, or strategy. Great excuse for a trivia session or team challenge.
Random Acts of Kindness Day – 17 February
A fun, low-key reminder to build kindness into leadership, teamwork and communication.
International Pancake Day (Shrove Tuesday) – 17 February
An easy one to get involved in – bring in pancakes and enjoy a bit of midweek fun.
Clean Up Australia Day (1 March) Business Clean Up Day – 25 February
A great opportunity for workplace teams to get involved in an environmental cause, promote sustainability, and foster teamwork outside the office.
International Women’s Day – 8 March
A global day celebrating the achievements of women and raising awareness for gender equality, in and out of the workplace.
World Sleep Day – 18 March
Important reminder of how sleep impacts wellbeing, focus and safety, a good day to check in.
Harmony Day – 21 March
Encourages inclusivity, respect and belonging for all Australians.
Note: Also recognised globally as the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, a reminder to actively promote equality and challenge racism in our workplaces.
World Health Day – 7 April
A broad opportunity to focus on physical and mental health at work, share resources, run an activity, or simply start a conversation.
May the 4th (Star Wars Day) – 4 May
A light-hearted date for teams who like to embrace their inner nerd (or wear costumes).
Do It For Dolly Day – 8 May
A day to spread kindness and raise awareness about the impact of bullying, in memory of Dolly Everett.
Mother’s Day – 10 May (Sunday)
While it falls on a Sunday, acknowledging it at work during the week can be meaningful for working parents, caregivers and all types of families.
International HR Day – 20 May
A chance to recognise and appreciate the vital role of HR in shaping thriving workplaces.
National Reconciliation Week – 27 May–3 June
An annual reminder for all Australians to learn about shared histories and how to contribute to reconciliation in our communities.
International Burger Day – 28 May
A simple, fun way to bring people together over lunch.
Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea – May to June
Cancer Councils fundraising event aimed to support cancer research, prevention and support services. Plan it your way.
Pride Month – June
A month-long opportunity to celebrate LGBTQIA+ inclusion, share stories, and show visible support.
National Doughnut Day – 1st Friday in June
Another excuse for morning tea, sweet treats and social time.
World Environment Day – 5 June
Encourages awareness and action to protect our environment, a great time to revisit sustainability practices or explore eco-friendly changes at work.
Queensland Day – 6 June
Celebrates the state’s birthday and its culture, heritage, people, and industry. Perfect for Queensland-based teams to show a little state pride, and since we’re proudly based in QLD, it’s on our list too.
Men’s Health Week – 8–14 June
A week focused on raising awareness of men’s health issues and encouraging open conversations. Especially relevant in male-dominated industries.
World Refugee Day – 20 June
A day to acknowledge refugees in our communities and encourage workplaces to show support and inclusion.
NAIDOC Week – 5–12 July
Celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements. A chance to reflect, learn and participate meaningfully.
World Chocolate Day – 7 July
celebrating all things sweet, especially a workplace where people feel valued, supported, and empowered. Let us help you create a workplace so sweet, your employees won’t want to leave.
National Lamington Day – 21 July
An easy one to get involved in – a very Aussie way to connect over a cuppa.
Daffodil Day (Cancer Council Australia) – 28 August
A day to support cancer research and remember those affected by cancer.
Weart It Purple Day – 28 August
Focuses on supporting LGBTQIA+ youth mental health and promotes safe, inclusive environments. Many workplaces take part by wearing purple and running awareness activities.
Wattle Day – 1 September
Celebrates Australia’s national floral emblem and the beginning of spring.
Father’s Day – 6 September (Sunday)
Like Mother’s Day, this is a good chance to acknowledge dads, father figures, and all kinds of family support structures during the work week.
Women’s Health Week – 7–11 September
Promotes health and wellbeing for women and people assigned female at birth, a good opportunity to share relevant resources and support access to care.
R U OK? Day – 10 September
A national day of action to remind everyone to check in on their mates and colleagues.
National Safe Work Month – October
A month-long reminder to commit to health and safety at work. You might use this time for audits, refresher training, or open discussions.
World Coffee Day – 1 October
Celebrate your workplace caffeine rituals by shouting the team a coffee or have a morning tea together.
Mental Health Week (QLD) – Typically early October
Recognised in QLD and aligns with World Mental Health Day (10 October). Useful for workplaces running mental health awareness activities.
Vegemite Day – 25 October
A fun, unofficial celebration of an Aussie staple, good for trivia or taste tests if your team is up for it.
Day for Daniel – 30 October
A day of action for child safety, education and protection. Especially important for workplaces with families or community links.
World Kindness Day – 13 November
Encourages us to make kindness the norm – in leadership, communication, and everyday moments.
International Men’s Day – 19 November
Recognises the contributions and wellbeing of men and boys, while promoting gender equality and positive role models.
International Day of People with Disability – 3 December
Promotes inclusion, accessibility and the rights of people with disability. A good time to review workplace accessibility and highlight positive contributions.
