No matter which Training Workshop you attend, Edwards HR’s objective is to provide learners with practical knowledge, tools and confidence to:

  • Identify what HR best practice should look like in their business;
  • Implement simple (yet effective) initiatives and tools to improve their internal HR, recruitment and payroll functions;
  • Handle issues and concerns in house, in a way that protects the commercial interests of the business while maintaining a fair and harmonious work environment;
  • Identify, meet and exceed employer compliance obligations;
  • Minimise the need for external support in future.

Too often qualifications and training focus only on theory and miss the practical element that will allow learners to succeed in the real world. We perfectly balance both sides, because we know this is what’s needed to manage the HR function successfully within a business.

Our training is specifically designed to be delivered in bite-sized chunks, meaning minimal interruptions to the workplace and maximum results while in attendance. Workshops are also facilitated with capped learner numbers, to ensure learning outcomes are maximised and training content is personalised, where possible.

Catering & Dietary Requirements

Morning Tea and a complimentary coffee are provided at in person Workshops.

We cater to most dietary requirements. Upon booking, please notify us in the dietary requirement section or contact us as soon as possible so we can try and cater to your dietary needs.

Parking

There is plenty of free parking out the front of our building and also on the street. Please be aware of trucks driving in the area.

How are the Workshops structured?

Each session commences at 8.30am sharp (Brisbane time) and runs for the duration noted in the 2024 Training Workshops table. Half-day sessions run for 4 hours.

Each session is structured around the topic and learning outcomes we will be focussing on, and will include a combination of theory, practical exercises, sharing experiences, case studies and reflection/application exercises.

Depending on the workshop duration, we have 1-2 brief breaks throughout the session. Brunch is provided for Workshops of 3 hours or more, and dietary requirements should be noted in your online booking. Tea/coffee is also provided. Note that catering is not provided to those attending remotely.

What should I bring?

Just yourself, a water bottle and your ‘ready to learn with an open mind’ outlook. We’ll provide a workbook for each session.

We prefer to minimise digital distractions by limiting the use of phones and laptops during the session. This allows us to focus on the content and learning outcomes, and make the most of the Workshop.

We encourage all learners to:

  • Come to the session with a clear and open mind;
  • Respect yourself and all others attending the Workshop;
  • Make notes and refer back to them frequently following the session;
  • Ask questions – it is a safe space and there is no such thing as a silly question;
  • Minimise the use of digital distractions until the breaks;
  • Share your experiences or things that have happened recently – the more relevant the content we discuss, the more you will learn;
  • Get to know your fellow Learners, it’s a great opportunity to network;
  • Wear something comfortable – smart casual is ideal.

After the Workshop

After each session, learners will receive an email from our team with useful information for future reference. Generally, this will include any complimentary resources and links to reputable sources of information relevant to the learning outcomes.

Anyone, with any level of HR/payroll experience, who is looking to expand their knowledge and skills across the HR topics we cover. Even the most experienced professionals will brush up on their skills and learn something new in our Workshops.

Be sure to thoroughly read the Content and Learning Outcomes for each Workshop and our ‘Public’ Training & Workshops Terms and Conditions before booking.

Location
